The recent liberalization of the Foreign Direct Investment policy for EU and Non EU nationals aimed towards the attraction and enhancement of foreign investments in Cyprus. Foreign investors may now establish a business in Cyprus without any constraints as no distinction is made between foreign and Cyprus Companies. Furthermore, companies having their management and central administration in Cyprus, enjoy several corporate tax advantages.
Foreign investors have the opportunity to participate in a legal entity registered in Cyprus with up to 100% participation in almost all sectors of the economy with some restrictions mainly in the sectors of banking, broadcasting (television or radio), education (universities) and property acquisition (for non EU nationals).
It is within these lines that the procedures to set up a business in Cyprus have been simplified and various departments have been established to facilitate foreign and local investors in the formation and establishment of a business in Cyprus. The following legal entities can be registered in Cyprus:
Ü Companies (private or public)
